Musical theater is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance.
We offer a weekly Musical Theater class for Kindergarten-5th grades outside of the Marquee Magic program.
And, we are thrilled to continue our brand new Musical Theater Program, Marquee Magic! In each exciting session, we produce a full-length production (one in the Fall and one in the Spring) where students will explore their creativity through singing, acting and dancing.
Marquee Magic offers numerous benefits, helping students gain confidence, build stage presence, collaborate as a group, and express themselves in a fun and creative environment! Your shining star will participate in weekly classes and rehearsals where they will learn songs, dialogue, choreography, and engage in team-building activities.
As they develop their performing skills, they will prepare for their big performances complete with costumes, sets, lights and sound!
Fresh off the success of Session One's Schoolhouse Rock Live, JR!, we are super excited to announce Session Two: Marquee Magic: There’s No Place Like Home! for Kindergarten through 8th Grade!
In our production of There’s No Place Like Home, students will be acting, singing and dancing to songs such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, “Ease on Down the Road”, “Rainbow Connection", “Brand New Day”, and more!!
Directed by the fabulous Elizabeth Wexler and Mary Nye Bennett, students will learn the foundations of musical theater performance from two seasoned professionals in the theater industry!
Grades K-8 will rehearse separately with their designated age groups, but the end of the session brings them together, culminating in one magical revue extravaganza!!
